What's included in a private guide service?
Our private guide service covers bilingual explanations, trail navigation, wildlife spotting, and personalized itinerary support throughout your experience. Most guests explore with their own rental car — your guide rides along and directs the way. Entry fees to national parks or activities are quoted separately.
Do I need to pay in advance?
No payment is required to submit your request. Once we confirm availability, we'll reach out via your preferred contact method to discuss payment options — typically a deposit to hold the date and the balance on the day of the experience.
Can I customize the itinerary?
Absolutely — that's the whole point of a private guide. Tell us your interests, pace and must-see spots and your guide will build a day around you. Want to start at 5 AM for wildlife? No problem. Prefer a slower morning? Done.
Are your guides certified and insured?
Yes. All guides hold official Costa Rica Tourism Board (ICT) certification and carry first-aid training. Your safety is non-negotiable.
How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking at least 48 hours ahead to guarantee your preferred guide and date. During peak season (December–April) 5–7 days in advance is ideal. Last-minute requests? Reach out — we do our best.
Can my guide meet me if I have my own rental car?
Yes — this is one of our most flexible options. Your guide can meet you at the trailhead, national park entrance, or any agreed point so you drive your own vehicle while they lead. Just let us know your preference when you book.
