We understand that travel plans may change. Our cancellation policy for tours and day experiences: cancellations made 7 or more days before the tour date receive a full refund. Cancellations made between 48 hours and 6 days before receive a 50% refund. Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the scheduled experience are not eligible for a refund, although exceptional situations may be reviewed individually.
No-show reservations are charged in full. Guests are granted up to 1 hour after the scheduled pickup time before a no-show is recorded.
Tour rescheduling must be requested at least 24 hours in advance. Experiences affected by severe weather will be rescheduled whenever possible; if not, a full refund will be issued.

The coffee tour was the unexpected highlight of our entire trip. We had assumed it would be a simple walk and a tasting — it was a two-hour masterclass in everything that goes into a cup of Costa Rican coffee. The guide explained each stage with real expertise, let us handle the fruit, smell the fermented bean, watch the roasting. Then we cupped three different roasts. I came home and bought a kilo from the plantation. Worth every cent of the early start.
Eight bridges sounds like a lot — and by the third you understand why every one of them is different. Some are short and low, intimate with the forest floor. Others are long enough that you are genuinely inside a different world, with the canopy spreading below you in every direction. The butterfly garden afterwards felt almost meditative — watching the blue morphos at rest, close enough to see the iridescence shift as they moved. One of the finest days I have ever spent in Central America.
We have done coffee tours in Colombia and Ethiopia and were not expecting to be surprised. Monteverde surprised us. The cloud forest context makes everything different — the altitude, the mist, the shade — and the way this particular plantation is run is genuinely artisanal. The sugar cane and chocolate tasting at the end was a lovely addition, and the bridges in the morning were simply spectacular. Wild Papagayo managed every detail, including a warm breakfast in the van before dawn. Exceptional.
